About Healthy Initiative

about

Healthy Initiative Foundation is transforming the nation’s health one city at a time and championing disease prevention with awareness, education and solutions for building healthy and joyful lives. Starting in 2013, as part of its effort to raise awareness and help combat the national obesity crisis, Healthy Initiative Foundation launched the 90-Day Breakthrough Personal Challenge, where 40 Chicago participants gained the tools and techniques needed to embrace a healthier lifestyle and transform themselves into ambassadors of healthy living and positive role models for the next generation.

Healthy Initiative is the vision of Shea Vaughn and has won the endorsement from the City of Chicago and the Department of Public Health for her work to champion disease prevention. Ms. Vaughn is a recognized wellness & fitness expert, author, speaker, master instructor & trainer, lifestyle consultant, and frequent spokeswoman for creating individual and business well-being.  She is also the creator of SheaNetics®, a doctor-endorsed holistic wellness and exercise lifestyle program. The “90-Day Breakthrough” is the inspiration of Ms. Vaughn and SheaNetics® and is the Foundation’s signature effort to raise awareness, provide solutions and make a meaningful difference.

Healthy Initiative’s “Breakthrough” is a comprehensive mind-body program with the goal of achieving individual weight loss and a state of personal well-being that is sustainable. Healthy Initiative is an Illinois (501(c)3 (EIN#) nonprofit organization promoting and disseminating knowledge and information about  wellness, diet,  nutrition, fitness, and mental and emotional strength. It is a nationwide strategic partnership effort with the help of supporting corporations, civic leaders and medical and wellness professionals. The goal is to defeat obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers and other lifestyle diseases. Program sponsorship and proceeds go towards continuing to create groups of influential wellness ambassadors and to fund health and wellness initiatives for our cities’ and nation’s children and schools.
